Reuters ran this piece today in which Whatsapp co-founder Brian Acton made some intriguing comments:
“Growth in the United States is a challenge for us,” Acton said on Wednesday after a talk at StartX, an incubator for young companies affiliated with Stanford University.
He also cited Japan and Taiwan as countries where “we could have been more successful with a little bit more effort.”
I don't feel vindicated at all as I don't like taking credit for merely applying common sense when I downplayed the dominance of Whatsapp and questioned its refusal to disclose its US user number. Nevetheless, this still made my day as I get ready for the torment of CFA Level II exam in less than 36 hrs.
