Claiming the impossible

One of the more worrisome things in the hardware startup field today is how some entrepreneurs are just claiming the almost impossible things.

Unlike software, where it seems like everything is possible and everything only depends on your coding skills, in hardware you are always faced with the ultimate limits of physics, if not the initial limits of off-the-shelf semiconductor components.

To claim something without verifying to a non-hardware investor is at best opportunistic. To pitch a hardware investor like us at the Hardware Club without doing your homework is at best simplistic.

Key such topics to watch out for:

  • Long-distance wireless charging
  • Manned drones
  • (more to add)

Always choose more cash over higher valuation
